The Mutual Gallery and Art Centre Ltd has launched an under-40 art competition.
Dubbed the Super Plus Under-40 Artist Of The Year Competition, the contest aims to promote new developments in Jamaican contemporary art.
The competition is open to resident and non-resident Jamaican artists and non-Jamaican artists residing in Jamaica for the last three years. Artists must be 40 years or under on August 8. Previous prize-winners of the Jury and the People’s Prizes are eligible to enter the competition.
The competition is open in the following media: painting, sculpture, installation art, ceramics, photography, video art, collage, printmaking and fibre art. Photographs should be clearly labelled with the artist’s name, title of the work, medium and direction.
